PostSubject: An Unexpected Meeting   Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:11 am

Hi all,

Since I was finally able to post this story on the Hanako forum (it's for a contest I'm entering there), I figured that I can post it here. Basically, this is Fatal Hearts fanfiction but some of the characters in my story are a bit OC. Anyway, it's pretty short but I'm curious for some feedback on it. Thanks. Smile

An Unexpected Meeting

The rain was pouring outside, relieving the trees and grass of their
thirst. Another hot, humid summer came and the rain provided relief
from the heat. However, Christina was stuck inside her house with
nothing to do but watch the rain. Her mom was out of town on business
and wouldn’t be back until next weekend. So Christina was all alone.

Bored, she allowed her mind to wander. Christina thought about
everything that had happened around this time last year. She found out
about her best friend Lucy’s secret and how she and her parents were
involved in some vampire scandal. Because of the persecution, they had
to move away and Christina lost touch with her closest friend. Then her
thoughts turned to Jeremy, the boy she was instantly attracted to but
who turned out later to be connected with the vampire. Fortunately, he
had saved her before she would have become the vampire’s bride.
However, Jeremy disappeared afterwards and it was assumed that he had
run away for his betrayal in releasing Christina.

Christina sighed, for this summer was surely boring compared to
last. What she wouldn’t give to have some adventure in her life again
and to be with Jeremy once more. She missed the dates that they had and
the first kiss they shared. No one else had ever made her feel so
special.

These were the thoughts going through her head when the doorbell suddenly rang.

“Hmm, I wonder who would come by,” thought Christina.

She got up from the sofa to open the front door. To her surprise,
Jeremy was standing in front of her. Speechless, Christina stared at
Jeremy and was in so much shock by his presence that she fainted into
his arms. Jeremy took the opportunity to use his magic and teleport
them to another place and time.

When Christina came to, she opened her eyes and saw that she was
outside in a beautiful sunny field, far away from the rain back home.
Her head was in Jeremy’s lap and she gazed into his loving eyes,
reading the relief in them.

"Are you all right, Christina? I guess I must have surprised you quite a bit.”

“Jeremy, is that really you? I must be dreaming.”

He chuckled at Christina’s words. “Yes, it really is me. I have waited a long time until it was safe to find you.”

“Where are we? I’m not familiar with this place at all.”

“I used my magic to take us to the English countryside. It’s the year 1594 and summer here.”

Christina was shocked by what Jeremy just said. She tried to process this news the best that she could.

“So you can travel through time?”

Jeremy nodded. “Yup, that’s right.”

“Ok, now I know that this is a dream. Time travel doesn’t exist,” Christina declared defiantly.

“I’ll have to prove to you that this is no dream,” responded Jeremy.

But before Jeremy could take another step, a witch and warlock
couple suddenly appeared and noticed the two lovebirds on a date, for
Christina and Jeremy did appear to be in a romantic setting.

“Let’s crash this party,” cackled the witch.

The witch and warlock lunged towards Christina and Jeremy in an
attempt to ruin their date. Jeremy was highly annoyed that the mood had
been ruined. Summoning his powers, he cast a rain spell upon the evil
couple, knowing that their one weakness was water.

“We’re melting! We’re melting!” yelled the witch in agony. Soon,
she and the warlock were gone and the rain spell dissipated along with
them.

“Yup, I was right. This is definitely a dream,” said Christina. It
was just too unimaginable to believe what had happened was real.

Jeremy forced Christina to look into his eyes. “Here’s proof that
this is real, that I’m here right now.” He leaned in towards her and
gave her a soft kiss on the lips, gentle yet full of passion.

When he broke the kiss moments later, Christina looked into his eyes and there, she could see the truth.

“You are definitely here. I have no doubt of that. I suppose
anything’s possible with you around,” smiled Christina. She leaned in
towards Jeremy to return the kiss.

@Phoenixgirl
A short but touching story:) (though I only played the demo version of the game Smile) Is this a one-shot fanfic or you'll be writing more chapters on it?

All the best in the competition ^.~

Thanks, everyone. Smile

@Love:

lol I know what you mean. Well, due to the nature of the contest, I suppose it was inevitable that I'd make it romance-based. But for some reason, I enjoyed writing the part about the witch and warlock. Razz

@ELIE:

This is just a one-shot fanfic. I hadn't planned on writing more unless there's a demand for more. That I always consider. Wink

Thanks, Fuu. Smile

If you have some free time, you can try out the demo version of Fatal Hearts. I like the game because it has a mystery to solve and it's full of puzzles. There are a variety of puzzles in the game and the graphics (ending scenes) are beautiful. Smile
