Romance RP

The shapeshifter noticed Alex's look but she didn't say anything, just continuing to eat. Lady Penelope smiled happily and replied,

"I am quite happy to hear that. You're such a talented one, Alex and I am sure you'll become a powerful sorcerer in no time."

Alex blushed and replied, "Thank you, my lady.  It honors me to hear such compliments."

He paused and then asked, "Did you rest well this morning?"

Lady Penelope nodded happily and replied, "Oh yes, I did. I stayed up late last night so that's why I slept in this morning. But at least I have some good news. I was able to come up with some of the elixir's ingredients although a number of them still remain mysterious to me but I'll continue working on it."

Alex nodded and replied, "I see.  That is promising.  You know, Lycoris is pretty good at potion making so perhaps the two of you could work together and find out the rest of the ingredients?"

Lycoris nodded in agreement with Alex and said, "That's true. I am pretty decent with potion making so I can help."

Lady Penelope looked curious and replied, "Ahh really? That's news to me but sure. I can use all the help I can get."

Alex added, "If the two of you don't mind, may I sit in and observe you both?  I'd be interested in learning to make potions eventually.  It would be a useful skill to have, right?"

(Sorry for the delayed response. My brother stole away the computer and all. XD)

Lady Penelope nodded happily and replied, "That's quite true and we'd love to have your company, darling."

Lycoris smiled happily as well and replied, "I'd love to have you sit in with us, Alex. Maybe I can teach you one thing or two."

(lol  That's ok.  XD)

Alex smiled and replied, "I would like that very much.  Thank you."

Eleanor commented, "Our Alex is going to be one very talented sorcerer, thanks to all of you.  I never thought it possible."

The shapeshifter spoke up here and said,

"It's more because he's doing his best and he's naturally talented as well, I must say. Otherwise my mission would have been a lot more difficult."

Lady Penelope nodded happily and said, "My darling is right there. Alex deserves all the praise."

Alex blushed deeper and replied, "Aww, thank you but as I said, I have a wonderful teacher.  I doubt I would have learned magic as well or as quickly if it wasn't for her."

Edward nodded and replied, "Alex is right about that.  The teacher can make all the difference in the world."

The shapeshifter replied,

"I'm glad I'm helping out. I'm doing the best I can and Alex is being cooperative, I admit."

Lady Penelope happily commented, "You two make a great team, you know. I can imagine that after Alex becomes experienced enough, you can make a really wonderful duet together."

Alex grinned and replied, "Yup, and we'll be quite the powerful team."

He looked happily at the shapeshifter before continuing to eat his lunch along with the others.

The shapeshifter didn't comment, but she was soon all done eating her lunch. She got up and said, "Please excuse me. If anyone needs anything, I'll be in my room."

She then took her leave, heading upstairs to her room.

Eleanor couldn't help but look sad and said,

"I wish she would stay.  I'd like to get to know her better."

Alex looked to her and replied, "Don't worry about it, Mom.  That's just the way she is.  It's hard for her to be close to people in general."

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lady Penelope nodded and replied, "What Alex says is true, I'm afraid. My daughter tends to be quite distant in general but I can tell she still feels comfortable between you all, even if it seems otherwise."

Eleanor smiled a bit and replied, "That's a relief.  I would be sad if she thought that our company was unwelcome."

Alex replied, "It'll take time but I think she'll open up more eventually.  She's quite kind once you get to know her.  Kind of like Lady Penelope in a way."

He smiled softly at Lady Penelope as he said those latter words.

Lady Penelope returned Alex's smile kindly and replied,

"That's sweet of you, darling and I am sure my daughter would have been happy to hear you saying this about her. And I agree with you, you know. Anjela is quite kind and compassionate even if she seems otherwise. It is just that she doesn't show it anymore."

Eleanor replied, "That's unfortunate.  I would like to see this side to her more."

Alex looked curiously at Lady Penelope and asked, "What does your daughter do when we aren't having lessons?  I hope she isn't bored here."

(Sorry I wasn't able to post earlier in the morning. I had to head to college earlier than usual because I had an exam and all but I'll be here tomorrow as usual. XD)

Lady Penelope turned to Alex and replied, "She's in her room almost all the time or if she goes out, she heads to the garden. My daughter prefers to be by herself when she can and I try to give her the space she wants."

Lycoris looked saddened and replied, "That must be very lonely though, spending most of the time by herself."

(Ahh that's ok.  XD)

Alex nodded sadly and replied, "Yes, I agree."

He looked to Lady Penelope and asked, "Do you think we should invite her to be around us more?  I don't wish to push her, though."

Lady Penelope sighed and shaking her head, she replied,

"I don't think that would be a good idea. I know my daughter. If she wanted to be around us, she wouldn't have waited for anyone to invite her so it's best not to push her."

Alex nodded and replied, "Ok but I hope she'll eventually become more comfortable with our company."

Eleanor added, "Me, too.  I really would like to get to know her better but we haven't had many opportunities to chat."

Lady Penelope smiled softly and replied,

"I am sure that time will eventually come. And if after everything is calm, we can settle here, she will be able to relax gradually around everyone and get back her carefree self, I am sure."

She was soon all done eating as was Lycoris, who was able to finish most of her food this time, as her health slowly improved.

Alex, Eleanor, and Edward soon finished their lunch as well and Edward commented,

"Lunch was delicious.  Thank you."

Eleanor looked to Lady Penelope and asked, "May I help you clean up?"

Lady Penelope smiled to Eleanor and replied, "That would be kind of you and I'll appreciate the help. Thanks."

She got up and started cleaning up. As she did with Eleanor's help, she turned to everyone else and said,

"Why don't you all wait for us in the living room? We'll join you once we're done here."
